Matt playing with the children at CFTAC
Back down to the jungle and building the wall up today. It was another hot and sunny day. The morning started with me bandaging all the blisters on the hands of the kid from the day before. We got down to the site and went right to hard work. Mixing gravel, sand, cement and water together to start laying the foundation for the wall in the trench we dug the day before. Then there was the continuation of the trench digging on the other side of the big tree we stopped at the day before. It was a none stop day of digging, shoveling the gravel, cement clearing the brush, putting motar between blocks and so much more. We worked from 9 till 1 then 2:30 till 5:30. We got the first layer of blocks set. The mixing of the cement was such a tough job and again the teens were amazing at thier tireless effert. At 5:30 we could have walked back to the house but no, the teens wanted to play their Gabonese friends in a "Friendly" soccer game. That lasted about 45 minutes. We had an American dinner of mac and cheese, burgers and hot dogs, yum. I should say we had an African lunch of rice, chopped up chicken parts and cabbage. The chicken taste fine but it looks weird. We had two missionaries join us for dinner. One from the Bongolo hospital and the other a translator from the most eastern part of Gabon. After dinner they shared thier testimony with us and how they ended up here. It was a wonderful lesson in listening to God's leading. Pray for Pauline to get an electric meter. She is the one who lives in eastern Gabon and just bought a house there. It has no running water or electicity. She has never had running water in the 15 years of being in Gabon and to her it is nothing big but she needs electicity to do her translating.
Tomorrow is planning the outreach for saturday and shopping for stuff for that. Pray that we really listen for God to direct us in our planning time. Thanks for checking this and your prayers for our team.
Oops, one moreprayer request. Today Kari was sick with the big D. She stayed behind with Meredith (the missionary here) and is better tonight but now Aafje has the big D. We all will probably be affected by it at some time, but these 2 need your prayers now. Aafje is laughing about it which is cool but still do pray.

Way to go Lacey! You always were the limbo queen! Sounds like you guys are having an awesome time. Wish I was there. Praying for you guys and that no one else gets the big D.
Whoops! Stacey changed the entry which will have people questioning what my previous comment was about. Oh well! :) The pics look great, I love seeing our kids interacting with the Gabonese children. Lisa
Stacey thanks for the amazing picture of my brother Matt! (: I was wondering if you could tell him this story for me, you may not understand it but i am pretty sure that he will. Matt! I went back to work out with John and he was talking about doing a rainbow with the soccer balls. So, i asked him to show me it when we were done so he tried doing it with the 8 pound weight ball and he face planted, hahahaha. When i went in for the next day he told me that he sprained his ankle doing it, hahahahahhaha! But i miss you and i hope you are having a great time.
Great pictures! Such a contrast between the smiles and the work faces. I bet everyone is sleeping well after so much physical labor. You will continue to be in our prayers for strength and endurance for the whole team.

Too cool! I love the pictures! It's fun to see all your work beginning to take shape. Today I taught my last English classes. It was sad! I haven't cried yet, but I've gotten dozens of gifts and notes from my students. I love teaching here and I can't wait to see where God calls me in the future! And I can't wait to swap stories with you! I made a little simple video of pictures of all my different classes and put it to the song "Say Goodbye" by Sanctus, and the kids have loved! Praying for you all, and can't wait to hear more!
Love and prayers,
Ben K :)
Love the second picture Stacey! Man I can't wait to go there myself someday. Tell everyone I love them! Hope Aafje will be feeling better by the time you read this!

Love the pictures....wish I could have seen the Limbo Queen doing her thing. While you are sweating on foreign shores, Lesley and I have been roaming about in Amish country. We enjoyed our trip, but are feeling sorry that you had such a hard time traveling to Gabon. It sounds like you are doing a great job with the work. Hope you have plenty of Immodium in your First Aid Kit. Love to the Image, Stacey's Mom
Hi Ty- Your mom showed the picture of you after you worked in the trenches. Not to be the gushy anunt, but it brought tears to my eyes. You make me so proud..such a young boy doing such a manly thing. I love you and I will keep you in my thoughts.
